Performance Analysis of Quadratic Buck Boost Converters: A Comparative Study

In energy harvesting systems, such as solar or wind power, the available energy source may provide a relatively low voltage . Indeed, the need to efficiently capture and utilize energy from low-voltage sources has led to the development of Buck Boost converter topologies with high voltage gain. The versatility and efficiency of Buck Boost converters make them essential components in numerous applications. This paper aims to compare and analyze two advanced DC-DC power converters that have the objective of achieving a wide voltage gain The study investigates the operating principles and steady state performance of the converters using MATLAB and also a comparison of the topologies made based on voltage gain, component count, voltage stress across switches, and polarity of output voltage parameters.
