A Fast Look-up Table Generation Method for Modulated Grating Y-Branch Lase

In recent years, modulated grating Y-branch lasers have been widely used in optical communication, sensing, and spectral analysis. However, the relationship between this laser’s output wavelength and control current is complex, and the manual traversal screening method is time-consuming and inefficient. This paper proposes a fast wavelength-current lookup table generation method based on coarse and fine current tuning. The final total scanning current combination data of this method is only about 40000 sets. Compared with the ergodic screening method, the data volume is significantly reduced, the scanning time is reduced, and the efficiency is improved. Theoretical and experimental test results show that the output tuning range of the designed MG-Y laser is up to 40 nm, the wavelength interval is only 0.008 nm, and the wavelength stability is better than 0.002 nm.
