Simulation Analysis of Influence of Current Source Inverter's Long-distance Power Supply on Motor

The main influences of the long-distance power transmission of the inverter on the motor include the influence of the wave reflection overvoltage on the motor insulation, the influence of du/dt on the motor bearing, and the influence of harmonics on the electric pump. Aiming at the problems of harmonic amplification, wave reflection, dv/dt and high torque starting in the long-distance power supply system of offshore oilfield drilling, this paper analyzes and compares the technical indicators of the current source inverter (CSI) and voltage source inverter (VSI). It can be seen that the application of CSI in the field of offshore oilfield drilling is more effective. Then, through the modeling of CSI-motor long-line drive system combined with actual cases, the influence of CSI's operating frequency change, cable impedance change, and motor starting torque on the stability of the inverter during long-distance power supply is further analyzed. The final simulation results show that CSI is safe, reliable and effective for long-distance power supply in offshore oilfield drilling.
