Study on Vibration Isolation Characteristics of UHVDC Converter Valve Saturable Reactor

The saturable reactor vibration in UHVDC converter valve is inevitable during operation. Long-term vibration results in equipment damage and even safety accidents. Vibration isolation of the saturable reactor is the key to insure operation safety. A forced vibration model for the saturable reactor vibration isolation mechanism is established based on the damped forced vibration theory of the single⁃degree⁃freedom system. The factors and parameters that affect the saturable reactor vibration isolation characteristics are studied and determined. On this basis, a calculation scheme of for selecting the parameters of the silicon rubber vibration isolator of the converter valve saturable reactor is designed and the elastic modulus and damping ratio of the vibration isolation silicon rubber are determined. Results of simulation analyses and experiments show that the vibration amplitudes of the reactor supporting structure and the supporting steel beam of the pipe are reduced significantly by using the selected silicone rubber vibration isolator, which provide a reference for setting and optimizing the design of the converter valve saturable reactor vibration isolation mechanism.
