Orthopedic Electric Belt: Heating and Supporting for Low Back Pain for Sacroiliac Joint Ailment

The global prevalence and years of healthy life lost due to disability rates from low back pain is one of the most significant factors to human health. Especially, developing and under developed counties such as Bangladesh is at risk of low back pain for sacroiliac joint ailment due to the lifestyle and working behavior. Hence, the primary focus of this paper is develop an orthopedic electric belt which can generate heat to alleviate this low back pain. This proposed electric belt consists of power resistors for heating system which is placed inside the belt and a temperature controller and dc power supply have been positioned outside. Simulation has been conducted to observe the current flow and to determine voltage and current. A hardware has also been developed with the temperature controller and the power driver circuit. Moreover, this proposed belt also offers portability, light-weight and inexpensive compared to other commercial electric belts.
