Application Specific Chipless RFID Tag for Wireless Sensor Networks

This research article is intended to provide a solution for high-cost wireless identification and sensing applications. The paper yields application specific wireless, design-oriented battery-free transponder. A 2-bit clipless RFID (radio frequency identification) tag has been originated to map with ISM (industrial, scientific, and medical) radio band applications. The transponder resonates at 2.45GHz and 5.88GHz frequency band while staying in compact dimensions of 28mm x 22mm. number of unique objects, where ‘n’ is the number of slots/bits. Four unique combinations ‘00’, ‘01’, ‘10’ and ‘11’ are acquired via utilization of single element tag. Two major parameters i.e., identification/tracking and sensing are targeted for applicability in IoT (Internet of Things) and wireless sensor networks (WSN).
