Technology and Society in Flux: Pandemic Impacts

COVID-19 has changed the way business is conducted as people are forced to migrate online leading to digital disruption among organizations. The resulting increase in the amount of digital interaction and the changes in consumption patterns for essential and non-essential goods pose new challenges to consumers. The effects of the pandemic and COVID-19 may need to be studied in the Singapore context, as there has been limited studies. Results suggest that there is an increased opportunity online, those who do not have a digital presence yet should consider entering e-commerce. In the growing e-market, it is becoming imperative to have a functional site or app integrated with several payment options. The delivery system must also be made safer, more responsive to the needs of e-commerce in Singapore.
