Analysis Of Key Factor For Energy Efficiency Of Passenger Ships - Shore Power Supply

The report presents an analysis of the new measures to increase the energy efficiency of passenger ships as a result of complying with the SEEMP requirements, to provide a global overview of the energy consumption of passenger ships and to present measures to improve their energy efficiency. Cruise ships over 200 m in length operate at high voltage to compensate for losses due to high energy consumption. The impact of a key factor to achieve energy efficiency and its impact on the calculation on the Energy Efficiency Operation Index (EEOI) of the Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index (EEXI) and the Carbon Intensity Index (CII) of a ship in a port connected to shore power has been studied. An analysis was carried out for each equipment and the impact of the implementation of the measures, which were calculated in relation to the annual fuel consumption. Specific measures are presented to improve the ship’s energy efficiency in different operating modes. A quantitative assessment of their impact was obtained. An approach has been proposed to reduce fuel consumption, which would lead to a reduction in the CII rating.
