Electric Vehicle Based Hybrid Energy Storage System using IoT

Electric vehicles (EVs) have received a lot of attention in energy storage systems (ESSs). High power generation and applications for EVs both use hybrid renewable energy. The hybrid source, which includes a power supply with batteries and super capacitors, produces energy without any pollutants. The suggested bidirectional converter combines boost and buck operations, which minimizes voltage stress, simplifies the circuit, increases system performance, and lowers the cost of the system. The battery supplies the energy source to the connected motor load, which is used for EV applications. While peak discharging conditions, the battery life is affected due to the sudden increase in acceleration's impact on peak power consumption. The super capacitor-based backup energy storage system plays a part in overcoming this limitation. In order to maintain power between the source, battery, and load, a PI controller has been suggested to generate pulses for the converter switches. The Internet of Things (IoT) is very important for monitoring and controlling, and it also makes it possible to remotely log data for battery characteristics, conditions, etc. This paper enhances the ESS performance of EVs by reducing energy loss and monitoring the battery parameters using IoT to increase the battery life span.
