Investigating the Role of Smart Learning Spaces and Smart Technology in Student Engagement

'Smart learning' a new vision, revolves around improving learning through digital technology and considering the smart learning spaces. One of the essential features of smart learning is high engagement. This study aims to analyse the role of technology in smart learning spaces to enhance student engagement in the teaching-learning process. Students’ awareness of the engagement and benefits of smart technologies, motivate them to adopt and use technology to enhance their learning. So, this study used the perception of the students of Bachelor in Architecture, an undergraduate program, as a measure to collect the data and analyse whether the students perceive technology as an essential feature of learning spaces to enhance student engagement in learning. This study will help develop smart learning spaces which can support and improve student engagement in learning and finally improve the students' learning outcomes.
