Statistical Characteristics Analysis of Ambient Ocean Magnetic Noise

Naval magnetic signal is an important signal source for detection. The statistical characteristics of ambient ocean magnetic noise play an important role in detection, parameter estimation and identification based on naval magnetic field. In this paper, statistical characteristics of ambient ocean magnetic noise in the corresponding frequency range of static magnetic field and shaft-rate magnetic field are analyzed respectively to provide theoretical support for the detection of magnetic anomaly and shaft-rate magnetic field. The results show that the noise in the frequency range corresponding to the static magnetic field of warship has good Gaussianity, but its power spectral density decreases rapidly with the increase of frequency. In addition to maintaining good Gaussianity, the power spectral density of ambient ocean magnetic noise data in the corresponding frequency range of shaft-rate magnetic field is almost flat, which can be approximately considered as Gaussian white noise.
