A High Precision Angle Measurement Method Based on Amplitude Matching Sliding Window Pulse Accumulation

In this paper, we propose a new angle measurement method based on amplitude matching sliding window pulse accumulation. This method uses the received echo data for sliding window accumulation and amplitude matching pulse accumulation. This method has significantly improved angle measurement accuracy over the traditional maximum signal method and the sliding window pulse accumulation method. In addition, the optimal sliding window weight vector design methods under clutter background, multiple targets, and staggered sets of pulses are introduced separately. The optimal number of pulses for sliding window accumulation angle measurement is analyzed based on computer simulation results. And the method has a high angle measurement accuracy in strong clutter background. In the case of multiple targets, the interference of redundant target can also be eliminated to achieve high angle measurement accuracy. The method is used under the radar echo model with staggered sets of pulses, which can avoid the velocity blurring to zero frequency and get more accurate angle measurement.
