Effects of Blade Pitch on the Power Generation of a Novel 3D-Printed Cascaded Wind Turbine

This paper investigates the effects of various Wind Turbine blade pitch angles on the electrical power generation capability of a Dual-Rotor Cascaded Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine (Cascaded HAWT). It aims to (1) examine the overall structure of two different small-scale 3D-Printed Wind Turbines; one single-rotor “Control” HAWT meant to represent a typical commercial Wind Turbine, and one Dual-Rotor Cascaded HAWT, (2) analyze the electrical power output of the Control HAWT compared to the electrical power output of the Dual-Rotor Cascaded HAWT, and (3) assess methods to improve the Dual-Rotor Cascaded HAWT's electric power generation capabilities on a commercial scale.
