Modeling and Analysis of Passive Solar Trombe Wall Systems Through Computational Fluid Dynamics

Building heating requirements can be reduced by utilizing solar energy through the use of passive solar Trombe walls, which harness natural convection and thermal energy storage. The idea of passive solar Trombe walls is presented in this paper as a green heating option. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) was used in this study to simulate the transient thermal performance of a typical passive solar Trombe wall system during heating operations. The CFD model solved complex governing equations efficiently and accurately, matching experimental data. The model presented here offers a promising solution for optimizing Trombe wall systems, potentially resulting in improved energy efficiency in buildings.
