Thermodynamic Study of a Mono-Pressure Cycle with Propylene/n-Decane Mixture

Refrigerating machines are systems that allow, with an energy contribution, to extract heat from the medium to be cooled (cold source) to reject it outside (hot source). Refrigeration machines meet the needs of cold in the three fields of domestic, commercial and industrial, which are air conditioning, freezing and refrigeration of perishable products. This work aimed at the continuous improvement of the performance of absorption-diffusion cycles and in the search for new refrigerants to replace the fluids commonly used. This study concerning thermodynamic feasibility for the new mixture of hydrocarbons, the most volatile fluid propylene is chosen as refrigerant, the less volatile, the decane is taken as absorbent.
