Modes Investigation of the Electric Network Operating on the Energy Internet Principle

The article is devoted to the implementation of the Internet of Energy (IoE) concept, aimed at improving the efficiency of distributed generation. When creating the IoE, it is necessary to solve the problem of managing power flows which can be done using developed Thyristor Voltage and Power Regulator (TVPR). The TVPR is an energy router analog, and it combines the functions of a phase-shifting and OLTC devices. The task was to investigate the possibility of controlling the flow of power in the electrical network with the TVPR. The research was carried out on a physical model of an electrical network ring section with two energy sources and two TVPRs. There were considered the modes of the electrical network without regulation and with the regulation of the voltage phase angle using the TVPRs. There was also carried out an assessment of the effect of the TVPR on the network Total Harmonic Distortion. The study results have confirmed the adequacy of the proposed scientific and technical solutions.
