Electrically Tunable Microstrip U-Slot Antenna Using Ferroelectric BST Thin Film

soft ferroelectric thin films with relative dielectric permittivity of >150 and loss tangent of <0.02 to provide a practical frequency tuning. It is found that incorporating BST in the same plane within a U-slot gap in a microstrip patch can provide frequency tuning of 70MHz at 5.65GHz with an appropriate electric field of 19kV/cm.
