A High-Gain Microstrip Antenna Loading Parasitic Element and Horn-Shaped Reflector

This study proposes a high-gain microstrip antenna loading a parasitic element and horn-shaped reflector. The parasitic element is placed above the microstrip antenna, and the reflector is loaded around it. The effects of the parasitic element and reflector are numerically investigated. The gain of a prototype antenna is around 12 dBi, and 6-dB gain improvement is experimentally confirmed. A high-gain microstrip antenna is successfully achieved by loading a parasitic element and reflector.
