Slope Displacement Monitoring with Corner Reflectors by PSInSAR Analysis Using Sentinel-1 SAR Data

Permanent scattering points can be measured with high accuracy and are rarely obtained by PSInSAR analysis on slopes with few artificial structures, such as mountainous areas. Installing a corner reflector at the target point makes that point a permanent scattering point and enables highly accurate measurements. In this paper, the measurement accuracy of the PSInSAR analysis of the corner reflector installation position is verified by installing a corner reflector that can be forced to displace and comparing the displacement of the PS point with the actual displacement from PSInSAR analysis using Sentinel-1 SAR data. Small and cost-effective corner reflectors were installed for the slope with slight as of about 1 mm/month to confirm that displacement could be measured at the PS points of the corner reflectors in addition to the PS points of the artificial structures.
