RCS Information Aided PMBM Filter

In clutter environment, multi-target tracking (MTT) often faces challenges such as false tracks, lose tracks and cardinality overestimation. This paper incorporates target's radar cross section (RCS) information into the Poisson multi-Bernoulli mixture (PMBM) filter to distinguish the target from false alarms better. The algorithm presents the Bayesian RCS estimation strategy and proposes an RCS aided PMBM (RCSI-PMBM) filter. Then an efficient implementation is developed based on the Gamma Gaussian mixture (GGM) form. Simulations reveal that the proposed RCSI-PMBM filter is superior to existing filters in terms of cardinality estimation and MTT performance evaluation methods.
