VR and Sensors in Alleviating Loneliness

This research proposes a novel combination of behavioural-tracking sensors and immersive virtual reality in alleviating chronic loneliness. Various limitations have been identified in current approaches, prompting more advanced techniques that efficiently target loneliness at an individual patient level. An affective intelligence approach has been proposed to maximise cognitive behavioural therapy outcomes in treatment, combining technology that is successful in related work.
