Skyrmion Motion Dependence on Damping Coefficient: Magnetic Nanotubes

Magnetic skyrmions, with their topologically stable magnetic textures, exhibit unique properties that make them attractive options for processing and storing information in spintronic devices. In this study, we employ micromagnetic simulations to explore the motion of the skyrmion dependence on Gilbert damping coefficient by spin-wave (SW) when a magnetic field is present along z - direction. We found that, choosing a larger damping coefficient makes the skyrmion more stable and minimize the amount of computation required. It is important to acknowledge that the actual damping coefficient of FeGe materials is quite low. Our results shed light on the nuanced interplay between the damping effect and geometric confinement, providing valuable insights for designing and optimizing skyrmion-based devices. The findings advance our understanding of the fundamental principles governing skyrmion dynamics in confined magnetic systems and offer practical implications for future nanoscale spintronic applications.
