Investigation of a Metamaterial Assisted Dual Side Coupled Cavity Reltron

-band dual side coupled cavity (DSCC) reltron is investigated in this article as a metamaterial assisted microwave generator. The RF structure of the anticipated device is a metamaterial-inspired DSCC (MDSCC). The electromagnetic properties of the MDSCC are analyzed for electron beam absence condition to find the resonant frequency. The MDSCC is integrated as the modulating structure in the reltron tube. The beam present condition is investigated using particle-in-cell (PIC) simulation with 300 kV, 350 A, and 0.38 T, which yielded the device efficiency of ~58% corresponding to 61 MW RF power at 2.51 GHz frequency.
