Ultra-Low Power Self-polarized Dynamic Threshold Telescopic OTAs Circuits for Biomedical Applications

Very low voltage and ultra low power consumption fully differential telescopic operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) circuits based on Dynamic Threshold MOS (DTMOS) technique were proposed in this paper. The first proposed DT-OTA (OTA-I) was designed using the conventional structure of a telescopic OTA. While ‘the second one (OTA-II) was designed using the bulk-driven technique at all amplifier levels. These two circuits are self-polarized and were designed for biomedical applications. The proposed two DT telescopic OTAs has good performances especially in terms of power consumption. The first circuit has a gain of 54.7 dB, a GBW of 312 kHz while the power consumption is only 270 nW. The DT telescopic OTA-II has a gain of 67 dB, a GBW of 400 kHz while the power consumption is only 250 nW. The DT-OTA circuits are implemented with the TSMC 0.18 $\mu$m CMOS technology.
