Frequency Divider

This chapter discusses the circuits and topologies of frequency dividers. The role of the prescaler in the programmable frequency divider is described. Then, the operation principle and design of the dual‐modulus divider, multi‐modulus divider, and programmable frequency divider are discussed. In addition, non‐conventional frequency dividers including phase‐selection dividers, phase‐interpolated dividers, and injection‐locked dividers are covered.
