Game for upper limb rehabilitation using OpenCV

Patients with impaired hand function have many difficulties in hand rehabilitation treatment. Conventional therapies are expensive, require a lot of practice, and require expert supervision. The application of games using OpenCV saves costs, increases motivation to practice, and can practice at home with flexible time. In this paper, we propose the Mosquito game as a tool to support upper limb rehabilitation aids to help patients increase exercise motivation and improve outcomes after rehabilitation treatment. The test subjects were regular people, including five students. After they played 15 consecutive games, we collected and aggregated their average score and feedback on the Mosquito game. From the obtained results, we believe that the Mosquito game will bring good results and meaningful effects on rehabilitation treatment for patients. In addition, webcam latency affects the player’s score and perception, so we will make the latency achieve better in the future.
