Strategic Decision Making in Public and Private Organizations: Challenges and Solutions

Quality strategic decision making in organizations is essential for long-term sustainability. This article examines the common challenges organizations face when making such decisions, and highlights the Decisional Quality (DQ) approach to evaluating and improving decisions before they are made. A systematic process is presented that encourages dialogue between decision makers and decision teams (experts), with a clear vision towards achieving DQ, promoting a decisional culture that complements the operational excellence that exists in institutions.
