Time Delay Compensation For Cascaded MIMO Radar With Injection-Locked Structure

Multi-level cascaded multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar plays a vital role in 4D radar imaging. However, addressing the phase mismatch in monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs) remains a significant challenge. In MIMO radar with injection-locked structure, phase difference primarily arise from time delay in interconnections between MMICs. Currently, phase compensation methods in injection-locked feedthrough MIMO radar can be classified into hardware and software. However, existing software compensation methods lack sufficient accuracy, particularly in the millimeter-wave band above 70 GHz, where errors introduced by these methods result in high angular sidelobes. This paper proposes a novel software compensation method that achieves more accurate delay compensation, significantly reducing angular sidelobes and improving angle estimation accuracy.
