Design and Optimization of an EMC Stripline from DC to 400 MHz

Based on the demands of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) measurements, a stripline for the tests of electromagnetic interference (EMI), electromagnetic susceptibility (EMS), etc. is designed and constructed in this work. Characteristic impedance of the proposed stripline is designed to be 50 $\boldsymbol{\Omega}$. In the simulated frequency range from DC to 500 MHz, the input VSWR is less than 1.2 and the insertion loss is less than 3.3 dB. Meanwhile, for 1 $\mathbf{W}$ input power, E-field strength in the testing area can reach a maximum of 73 V/m, and the field uniformity (FU) at most frequency points is less than 1 dB. The proposed stripline is processed and assembled, measured and simulated results are in good agreement.
