A Review on Performance of MIMO Antenna for Wearable Applications

This review is about the MIMO antenna used for wearable applications. It summarizes different parametersanalyzed in the literature for antenna design with an emphasis on MIMOtechnology. This research study helps to recognize the limitations and advantages of this technology. Based on this the MIMO antenna structure is studied. There are many classifications of antenna based on the i/o ports. Among them MIMO antenna is chosen to be suitable for the wearable applications due to its specifications like low latency, data rate, connection density, spectrum efficiency and mobility. The antenna is a crucial part in the WBAN systems, by which the overall performance of system is lowered. There is a necessity that antenna need to be flexiblefor human body's morphology. Compared to other antennas, these antennas work in close proximity to the human body, so their performance in terms of directivity gain, efficiency, bandwidth, radiation pattern, return lossand Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) is important with respect to absorption by human body tissues. So, it is important to choose the significant parameters for required application. The MIMO antenna used for the biomedical application are designed in such a way that there is isolation between one element to another. Isolation between antenna elements along with bandwidth parameters and current distributions are discussed in this review.
