Study on Electromagnetic Interference Risk of Vehicle to Active Implantable Medical Devices

Active implantable medical devices such as cardiac pacemakers belong to three types of high-risk equipment, which should be tested for electromagnetic compatibility according to the requirements of engineering doctors. However, patients wearing such devices will appear in all kinds of life scenarios, and the electromagnetic compatibility requirements of vehicles are far higher than the requirements of engineering doctors. Therefore, this paper first analyzes the electromagnetic interference immunity performance of active implantable medical devices, then introduces the potential electromagnetic interference factors of road vehicles, and finally analyzes the electromagnetic interference risk of active implantable medical devices by collecting the electromagnetic radiation data of vehicles in different states and different positions. The results showed that: The magnetic field radiation value of the electric drive system of the sample vehicle is far lower than the interference immunity level requirements of active implantable medical devices, but the radiation level of the vehicular wireless charging module has approached or even exceeded the interference immunity requirements, especially with the increase of the transmission power of the wireless charging module. Patients wearing the device should keep a certain distance from the wireless charging module to ensure that it is free from interference.
