Design of a Compact Frequency Reconfigurable Microstrip Patch Antenna Using Pin Diode

In this project a cpw fed reconfigurable antenna is designed and analysed for c band applications. This work is designed using ANSYS hfss and FR4 material is taken as the substrate material for analysis. The designed antenna is working at frequency range at 6.8GHz which covers the high-end range of c band covering all near by satellite communication applications. To enhance the gain characteristics of the antenna the metamaterial inspired split ring resonators having placed on top side of the patch for constant gain(4Db).The novelty of the antenna lies in the reconfigurability where 4 diodes are inserted for the reconfigurability of the obtained band. All the cases and reconfigurability have been discussed in the proposed work states that the proposed antenna is a suitable candidate for c band applications.
