Abstract:

We have demonstrated a Q-switched harmonic noise-like pulses (QHMLNLPs) in an erbium-doped fiber laser using nonlinear polarization evolution with a repetition of 26.79 MHz, representing the highest repetition rate achieved in QHMLNLPs.

I. Introduction

Q-switched mode-locked (QML) combines the features of Q-switched and mode-locked operations, which can generate mode-locked pulses within a Q-switched envelope. Benefiting from the characteristics mentioned above, QML fiber lasers could generate pulses with higher pulse energy and peak power. A number of studies about QML fiber lasers have been reported [1], [2].
