Abstract:

Trees are essential for maintaining a healthy environment on Earth, as they help prevent issues like soil erosion and climate warming. Monitoring the condition of trees’ health is crucial to ensure their positive impact on the ecosystem. This paper aims to introduce an Internet of Things (IoT) system designed to monitor the health status of trees. The focus is on presenting the system’s architecture and how data is exchanged between sensor-equipped nodes and a central gateway using LoRa technology. In the paper, detailed information about the used sensors and the provided functionalities is given.
