Prediction of Drag Reduction in Crude Oil Pipeline based on Turbulent Fluctuation Theory

This study investigates the effect of drag reducing polymers (DRPs) on the crude oil turbulence structure, analyzes the action process and principle of DRPs, clarifies the composition of turbulence drag, and proposes the mechanism of inhibiting the turbulence additional stress in the elastic layer based on turbulent fluctuation theory. From the perspective of transport increase caused by drag reduction, a model for predicting the drag reduction effect of DRPs in oil pipeline is established, and the drag reduction coefficient J in the model reflects the applicability of a drag reducer to oil, which is only related to the DRPs type.
