Zero Crossing Current Spike Elimination in Hybrid-Modulated Interleaved Full-Bridge Inverter

The global trend in promoting green energy must be accompanied by the development of its supporting devices. The power converter device is a major component in the real implementation, according to its role in a conversion process of voltage, current, frequency, or other electrical parameters. This paper will provide a study in the inverter device, as a DC to AC converter, including the comparison of its common modulation scheme, a proposed solution to improve the quality of output waveform, and the experimental testing to prove the theoretical study. , and an output frequency of 50 Hz. In the circuit implementation, a modular half-bridge plug-in design is adopted to improve space utilization. The control stage is applied with a TMS320F28035 DSP chip, and it is highlighted as the solution of the current spike issue at zero crossing time, making it a main contribution in this paper. Subsequently, the power efficiency, total harmonic distortion, and leakage current of the three modulation methods of the single phase full-bridge inverter is analyzed as well. The measured peak efficiency can reach a top-level value of 98.97%.
