Study of the Two-dimensional Process of Changing Groundwater Levels Using the Discrete Singularity Method

The paper examines a mathematical model of the two-dimensional process of groundwater subsidence, built on the basis of the "piston" displacement model. The results, which continue the research of the article [1], are presented. In particular, a mathematical model of the process of changing groundwater levels is being studied using semi-impermeable inclusions of arbitrary shape with different permeability coefficients and drainage systems located on opposite sides of the semi-permeable inclusion in the process area, which can affect the process of groundwater subsidence. Examples of studying the process of groundwater subsidence in homogeneous layers in the presence of two drains and one inclusion on opposite sides of the inclusion are given. To numerically solve the basic system of integral and differential equations, the discrete singularity method is used. Calculations were performed using the high-level Python programming language with the NumPy, SciPy and SymPy packages. The presented study can be used to assess hydrological impacts.
