A Review of Parameterization Methods for the Electrochemical Model of Lithium-ion Battery

With the development of technology, clean energy, energy transition, and sustainable development have become the trend of current society. Lithium-ion batteries are widely applied because of their significant advantages as the energy storage components for electric vehicle (EV), power system, consumer electronic products, etc. An accurate battery model is of great importance to battery management and state estimation. The precision of a battery model critically hinges on the accuracy of its parameters. This paper summarizes the parameterization method of electrochemical models, parameter measurement and parameter identification, analyses their advantages and drawbacks, and put forward future research directions. The discussion and analysis presented in this work can serve as a valuable reference for parameterizing battery models.
