Temperature simulation and analysis of power battery module with PCM

In order to explore the influence of convective heat transfer coefficient and phase change material (PCM) on battery module temperature, the heat generation model of battery and heat transfer model of PCM was established, and ANSYS fluent was used to simulate the temperature distribution of the battery module, whose maximum temperature, maximum temperature difference and liquid fraction were used to study the battery module’s heat dissipation performance. The results show that with the increase of convective heat transfer coefficient, the maximum temperature of the module almost tends to be stable, but the temperature difference will increase. In addition, different PCMs will affect its maximum temperature difference.
