The Novel Passive Devices for S-Band Satellite Amplifiers on a Base of the Nolen Beam-Forming Networks

This paper contains the S-band 3- and 4-channel microwave devices consisting of the printed hybrid junctions. These networks are realized through the printed technology. Contrary to well-known multi-port amplifiers (MPA) on a base of Butler beam-forming matrices, the proposed architecture uses the Nolen beam-forming networks those offer the possibility to realize any of the amplifying channels. Starting from the previously realized dividing-summating networks, the authors believe that the any channels may be realized. Additionally, the phase differences between channels are also acceptable. This architecture was implemented to energize the S-band cosmic dipole antenna system. Before the concretion of such the radiator, the detailed design algorithm related to the corresponding dividing-summating architecture is needed. Also, the simulation-derived results on a base of the FORTRAN-oriented computer are described. The depicted summating architectures are the good candidates for the printed satellite networks.
