RF Performance Verification of 5G NR Transceivers

This chapter provides the necessary knowledge for characterizing the radio frequency (RF) performance of 5G NR base station transmitters and receivers. The key performance parameters of conducted and radiated conformance tests of 5G NR base station transmitters and receivers are covered. A brief description of the vector signal generator and vector spectrum analyzer which are essential for the RF performance verification of the 5G NR base station is presented. The test setups for characterizing the RF performance of the receiver are also presented and discussed. The purpose of the total power dynamic range measurement test is to verify that the difference between the maximum and minimum transmit power is within the system performance requirement. The purpose of the transmit ON/OFF power measurement test is to verify that the transmitter's OFF power level, and the transient time length meets the standard requirement.
