How to Improve the Operation of Coal Power Plant?

The Russia-Ukraine war has changed drastically conditions in the field of energy. Although there was a plan to finish the work of fossil fuels (coal, oil) power plants, so as nuclear power plants (not officially till the beginning of 2030), today all these electric sources work everywhere due to lack of electricity. The price of electricity reached more than 1000 EUR/MWh instead average of 70 EUR/MWh previously. So, environmental pollution, in fact, today the greatest world problem, and climate change, as a question of human survival on the planet Earth is not so much important in the new circumstances. For environmental pollution from all kinds of power plants, a very important and effective measure is the coefficient (kgCO
2
/kWh), which presents the structure of electric sources. More fossil fuel power plants mean greater production of kgCO
2
. Therefore, we have to care about environmental pollution in the new circumstances when fossil fuels power plants are in operation. In this paper, the measures for improving the operation of coil power plants REK Bitola (approximately old 40 years) in the Republic of North Macedonia are described. The quality of coal is the primary question even more so that it is partially imported. The enrichment of the coal calorific value with the help of fuel oil is also in use. In general, all energy efficiency ways for electric drives should be in use. Power electronics converters are necessary for the drives of fans and pumps in the coal power plant. The filter systems with fan drives should be modernized as a priority. The transport bands should become VSD (variable speed drives). Normally for all these actions time and money are necessary.
