Fault Tolerant Control for Doubly Salient Electromagnetic Generator Based on H-Bridge Boost Converter under Excitation Loss

In response to the strict requirements for reliability in aviation, the doubly salient electromagnetic generator (DSEG) should be able to accomplish fault-tolerant power generation (FTPG) after losing excitation. The H-bridge converter can be used to realize power generation with fault tolerance for DSEG after losing excitation, but cannot control the excitation voltage and output voltage of DSEG independently, making it impossible to achieve fast excitation, resulting in lower output power. Therefore, The H-bridge boost converter is proposed for FTPG under excitation loss, which makes the excitation voltage be independent of the output voltage. The proposed method can achieve fast excitation when the value of excitation voltage is greater than the output voltage, and improve the output power after losing excitation. Finally, the correctness of the control strategy was verified by simulation.
