An enhanced implementation method of fixed-point iteration technique for solving magnetic hysteresis finite-element problems

A new implementation procedure of the locally convergent fixed-point (FP) technique for solving nonlinear magnetic problems is proposed in this paper, mainly involving the weight format of calculating the optimal fixed-point coefficient and the numerical method for determining the differential reluctivity. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach, deficiencies of existing fixed-point techniques are firstly revealed and analyzed. The performance of proposed algorithm is then investigated through comparisons with Newton-Raphson (NR) method and traditional fixed-point method of local convergence. Finite-elements (FE) simulation of quasi-static magnetic field is adopted as numerical validation, where the hysteresis characteristic is considered by inverse Preisach model. Advantages of the introduced technique in both convergence speed and stability are verified.
