A Two-stage EV Wireless Charging System Based on LCC-S Resonance and Its Wide Input and Output Voltage Range Control Method

With the gradual popularization of electric vehicle (EV), wireless charging has become an important method for EV charging due to its convenience, safety and environmental adaptability. Traditional EV wireless charging systems often adopt a three-stage architecture, resulting in low energy efficiency and high manufacturing costs. This paper presents a two-stage electric vehicle wireless charging system based on LCC-S resonance to realize wireless power transmission with high efficiency and low grid current ripple. The limiting factors of the output voltage range are analyzed, and an output voltage control method combining DC bus voltage regulation and full-bridge phase-shifting is designed. The charging system can satisfy the grid voltage range of S5-265V and vehicle side voltage range of 300-450V, and can tolerate the variation of coupling coefficient. The simulation result shows that the system efficiency is 93% and the current THD can get less than 1%.
