DFIG-VSG Based on Predictive Back-EMF Control for Improved Voltage Source Characteristic and Overcurrent Suppression

When applying virtual synchronous generator (VSG) control, a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) plays the role of a voltage source, which can benefit the grid stability but increases the risk of overcurrent when the grid suffers some transient processes. In this paper, a predictive back-EMF control method is proposed to further enhance the voltage source characteristic of a DFIG-VSG, as well as better ability to suppress the overcurrent situation.
