Applications of Adaptive Beam Control Technique for Laser Satellite Communication Systems

We investigate a couple of potential applications of adaptive beam control for laser satellite communication systems. Dynamic adjustments of beam divergence and convergence angles can help alleviate impacts of pointing errors and fluctuations in angular-of-arrival. The adaptive beam control also facilitates the beaconless pointing, acquisition, and tracking, and thus simplifies the system implementation.
