Quantum chemical modeling in nanoscience: From understanding the basics of the theory of the structure of matter to solving applied problems*

Quantum chemical calculations based on density functional theory have been widely accepted by both chemists and physicists. Nowadays these methods have become a tool for the solution of applied problems at the nanoscale. Here we consider some problems with the concept of quantum chemical calculations related to education in the field of nanotechnology.
