A Novel Dual Source Inverter for HES System Using SVM

This paper describes a dual-source DC/AC converter and its creation for the alliance and effective enhance of high and low voltage DC energy storage system applications such as batteries and super capacitor banks. This type of hybrid combination is mostly desirable for the transient periods of electric drives like acceleration, deceleration, braking, etc. So, This mechanism is applied for Hybrid EVs and parallel hybrid EVs. The magnetic-less architecture of various sources inverters lowers the size, volume, and loss of power. Comparing topology of the proposed various sources inverter to its predecessors, bidirectional DC to DC converter is removed and there are only fewer switching devices which leads to the reduction of switching losses and boosts efficiency. Previously the conduction losses are more but, in this topology, they are reduced due to the limited no of low frequency operating devices. The appropriate functioning of the proposed multi-source inverter architecture is evaluated by employing a closed-loop current controller via PI controller. To provide adequate switching pulses in all operational modes, a correct space vector modulation approach is used which is an enhanced PWM scheme. MATLAB software is used to observe the newly suggested multi-source DC/AC converter’s performance and its simulations.
