Application of Multi-dimensional Decision Tree Model on Chinese Tourists' Willingness to Travel Abroad in the Post-pandemic Era

From the perspective of tourists, we conducted an empirical analysis of Chinese residents' willingness to travel abroad in the post-pandemic era. Taking residents in Fuzhou, a coastal city in Fujian province, as the research object, a multi-dimensional interactive decision tree model was used to clarify the differences in perception of outbound tourism among different groups in China. Their perceived willingness was cross-detected to distinguish the factors affecting the willingness to travel abroad on multiple interactive scales. The results showed that different groups of people had different responses to outbound travel willingness. The willingness to travel abroad was not strong and more people postponed or turned to domestic travel. Based on this, it was proposed to adopt a combination of means such as new media marketing, festival marketing, joint marketing, emotional marketing, and low-price strategy for the cost-effectiveness of international tourism. It is necessary to improve the quality of outbound tourism services, eliminate the anxiety of outbound tourists, and stimulate the recovery of the international tourism market.
